1881 German Bible - not my family's, but still interesting

I've had an old Bible sitting in my bookshelf for about five years. Jason's uncle gave it to me - I'm not even sure where he got it from. I think an old storage unit? Anyway, I'd never bothered to open it until today. I'm working on reorganizing my bookshelf, and I starting flipping through the bible to see if anything interesting was stuck between the pages.

Here is a pressed flower and an envelope that must have been for collecting money at Easter services somewhere.

Here is a piece of paper that looks like it was written by a little girl as a pretend postcard. The recipient's name is Clarence Allemeier from Delphos, Ohio. The writer signed it, "As ever your friend, Pearl Miller." I wonder how they knew each other - school friends, church friends, neighbors? Did the Bible once belong to the Allemeier family?

I found Clarence's WWII draft registration on Ancestry. He was living in Fresno, California in 1942. In the space for any identifying characteristics he wrote "confined to wheel chair since childhood."

I don't even know who these people are, and they're not related to me in any way, but I still find it all so interesting!
